Question: how often do hatchling BP's shed? I've had Soph for about 2 weeks (and she's fed both times). I've read up on the signs to look for but wasn't sure about the frequency.

I think hatchlings can shed about once a month...but I'm not 100% sure on that.

3-5 weeks is about right once they get on a regular feeding schedule

Still waiting for mine to have his first shed. He will be two weeks old on Sunday. Should I be worried he hasn't shed yet?

Soph is about 3mos. and she hasn't shed since we've had her, but I'm sure she will soon....no physical signs yet, but she just had her second meal w/us last night....so maybe w/in the next week or so, we'll see I guess!

But don't I have to wait till after his first shed to feed him? I was told that hatchlings don't eat til the shed once.

That's correct, but you don't have to worry just yet. And if you are worried, you could try feeding him a small adult mouse (preferably frozen/thawed), but I'd just wait out the shed if I were you.

I agree with Marla. They know when they need to shed and they dont have to let you know. Jojo is big now and sheds maybe every 2-3 months but when he was smaller he shed about once a month but he has shed twice in a month before. When they are small and you start feeding large meals they grow really fast.
