    The Serpent Merchant
    Welcome to the site!

It is very possible that your snake has an upper respiratory infection. RI's need to be taken seriously. When you get him to the vet make sure that the vet does a culture to determine the cause so the proper medication can be prescribed. Until you can get him to the vet bump up his cage temps.

Can you give us some details on how you keep your snake?

    Cage type/size
    Heat source(s)
    Thermometers/hygrometers
    thermostats?
    substrate/substrate layer thickness

A picture of the cage would be helpful. This thread show how to post pictures: http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...with-pictures)

Here are 2 great threads to help make sure that you have everything right:

It's also possible that your snake had just taken a drink and you tipped it allowing water to flow out of its mouth and nose. If you don't see it happening again, no bubble blowing or excess mucus in the mouth, it may well be nothing. They don't have throats like we do and if you put them head down when they're full of water it can just drain right out.

Pictures of its mouth and head would help.
