    Swelling on lip
So I just noticed this on my male cinnamon's face the other night. He has a bit of a bump on the right side of his upper lip.

You can really see the swelling here.

I did some hunting around for similar situations and looks like the largest potential culprit could be an abscess, ick. But I also noticed his nose seems almost wrinkled and dried out, like maybe he has some shed still stuck on there that I didn't notice and it's causing issues? I can't remember the last time he shed but I think it was sometime in december. He's eating fine, chowed down several rats for me recently after being his usual picky self for a while. He wasn't interested in one last night though, even though he had his head poked and was tasting the air and looking around, but he just never struck at the f/t I offered him (rather typical to refuse every so often for him though). There's no weezing or trouble breathing, no listlessness or any other sign of illness, he's solid as a rock and very perky. The flesh doesn't even really look red or nasty around the bump, although I didn't open his mouth to do a full inspection.

Any thoughts? I'm considering giving him a warm tub of water to soak in to see if there is stuck skin on his nose that needs to be loosened up, but if there is I'm not sure how to get it off since that's such a fragile area.

    Hi,

What does it look like inside his mouth in that area?

Have you seen him rubbing it on cage furniture or anything?

He hasn't been rubbing on anything as far as I can tell. He's in a pretty barebones rack system with just a hide and a water bowl, but maybe he still found some way to agitate it.
I'll see if I can get some pictures of inside his mouth today.

Ok so... I finally had a second pair of hands at my disposal, but when I pulled him out this morning the swelling had completely gone away! His face looks perfectly normal, albeit still slightly dry and crinkled in that odd way. Guess it was just a temporary irritation? I'll keep an eye on him nonetheless.
