incubator egg box poll

OK just want to know do you use egg crate on top of your substrate adn fill water the egg crate or light diffuser or do you place eggs in the substrate directly????

Light diffuser over vermiculite.

I've done this both ways with my corns. When done right, there is no problem with either, however, I prefer using a light diffuser over my substrate for the big reason of it being cleaner. When babies hatch, they aren't getting stuff stuck to them. That's more for me than them, however.

sponge? Interesting! Also, what kind of perlite do you guys prefer? Where do you buy it?
