Getting .mkv files to play on a smartphone?
I know a lot of you on here are smart cookies when it comes to all this fancy electronics stuff, so does anyone here know how to get .mkv files to play on an android smartphone? (Specifically a T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S2) I have a lot of anime/other language movies that I'd like to watch when I have free time between classes, but just copying the files over to my phone doesn't work; the subtitles won't show like they do in, say, VLC Player.

I Googled this, and it brought up a converter software that you can put the files through, but it was for Mac AND it had like a million steps to get it to work. :(

MX Player. It's available free in the play store. I LOVE mkvs myself and was so thrilled when I found it. Just throw it on your phone and it'll play no problem.

I thought mkv's used an srt file for subtitles. you may have to "burn them in" with something like Handbrake.

The MX Player works perfectly! Thanks so much. :) There really is an app for everything, haha.
