    Humidity question please help
I was telling a friend at work how to keep BP's (his son wants to get one) When i told him how important humidity is and alot of problems can happen if the humidity is too low. He asked me what happens if the humidity gets too high............................... I had no idea i have never heard if there is any problems if the snake is kept int 80-90% humidity the only thing i could think of was RI

    Humidity question please help
Too high can cause scale rot iv read. I'm also a newb but I also just read that most don't worry a whole whole lot about it being too low except when they are in or about to shed. I wouldn't listen to me though lol I'm sure someone more experienced will chime in ^.^

High humidity in a nice warm environment (like the thermal gradient in a bp enclosure) is a perfect breeding ground for mold and bacteria. More pathogens increase the risk of RI, scale rot, and other infections, and if any humans in the household are prone to respiratory difficulties (like asthma) you definitely want to discourage mold growth.

Humidity coupled with poor ventilation can lead rots RI and a grab bag of other issues already mentioned. high humidity alone isn't usually an issue. Low humidity eventually lead to dehydration it takes quite a long time before this happens.
