Humidity maintenance. (suggestions appreciated)
Been using a digital humidity gauge for a while and to be completely honest, it sucks.
This question is probably hanging around somewhere else-- but the forum is so big I'm pretty sure I'd never find it.
What do you guys use to monitor your humidity? I've considered multiple options, and there's always been a considerable amount of people claiming that nothing works. So yeah, I need to invest in something that's actually as accurate as possible.
(I've heard a lot of bad talk about analogue ones. Rumors true or false?)
Humidity maintenance. (suggestions appreciated)
Where does everyone get these thermometers?!? What section?
Re: Humidity maintenance. (suggestions appreciated)
I use a couple of cheap analogue ones from a few different brands. As long as you know how accurate your hygrometer is, it doesn't really matter. A simple salt test will give you your accuracy, and you just adjust from there. A benefit with the digital hygro/ thermo combinations is that you get multiple environmental factors being measured with one device. The humidity is going to vary in the cage anyway (being lowest right over the hotspot), so you may want to use a few in various locations in the cage. What type of enclosure is it?
Re: Humidity maintenance. (suggestions appreciated)
It's a large plastic cage that I just got.
(thank you guys for your input, by the way!)

I use these,

It is robust and dust and dirt has very little effect on them and they can easily be calibrated with a salt test as they have a calibration screw.
Tjats an analog
