    would this work?
    So i was thinking would this work and keep the air temp up like using a heat bulb without needing a bulb?
    The colours are heat mats that would be ran off a thermostat thanks :D

    Nope. Heat mats will only keep the surface immediately above them warm, they're not sufficient for producing an ambient temp. If you want warm enclosure temps without a bulb you'll need to warm the entire room.

    okay thank you loads my rooms at about 70F at lowest at night but thats with no heating on at all so with heating on should be fine.

    U can get a ceramic heat bulb all the heat with none of the light

    If its a tub single heat pads are fine as long as the room isnt freezing, my room is about 73-77 and it stays 80-82 ambient in my cb70 tub rack with a hot spot of 90.

    If its an aquarium it wont work as GLASS does not keep heat in at all.

    I was thinking on going wooden viv, and i was looking to have it with no heat bulb what so ever as they cost a bomb on the electric bill but if i cant get away with not having a bulb i just wont get a ball as i dont want to have it in unfair keeping :)

    If your worried about power costs go with a tub rack and heat tape, I'm not 100% sure that you could heat a wooden viv like that I could be wrong though!

    Maybe someone who has tried will chime in

    I'm only running a 40 watt bulb and the heat tape seems to just fine..
