Few questions on shedding
My BP is going through his shed right now. I've read some do and others don't eat during different stages of their shed. Mine has already gone through the cloudy eyes, so I fed him yesterday around noon and he took it like a champ. When I woke up this morning I checked his hide and he had already pooped and all that good stuff. So here is one question, is there a possibility that during a shed they can process food faster (normally it takes him about 2 days)? I know it probably doesn't but just curious.
Speaking of the shed, I am apparently doing a terrible job since its coming off in pieces. I have a glass tank, placed two small, wet towels in his hide, a bowl of water for each side of the tank and three small sponges to try and up the humidity. Is there something else I can do? I thought I read about people filling their bath tub up to half the height of the BP to let them swim around for a little while, should I try that?
Few questions on shedding
Snakes generally poop once a week. Mine usually poop after they get their next meal, others a little before.
As far as the shed goes, cover 3/4 of the screen lid with a towel. That will increase humidity. Soaking (letting them be in water) is done after the shed was unsuccessful. It's to help get the stuck shed off. Use tepid water and fill it to about half way up the BPs side, get a towel wet in the same water and put it in there as well. They will use the towel to slither on and help the shed come off. Let them stay in the water for about 30min.
