friends that have their snakes dying
I have a question. I have a few friends that have their balls die on them. Two incidents for one friend were heat related (didn't have a thermo on his rack) my other friend explained everything to me and can figure it out. Recently he was breeding a female Mojave and it was pooping and eating fine and the next day he found it with white goo coming out of its mouth laryngitis inverted. I have never had a BP die in my care. And I know this is a touchy subject so I don't mean to offend anyone I just really can't comprehend how they are killing them. Ha almost makes me feel like asking them wtf is wrong with them. I really could have made a good ammount of babies off of these snakes they killed :-[

The only way to find the root problem is a necropsy anything else aside from that is just guesses.

When a snake die it should be placed in the fridge and taken to an herp vet to have a necropsy done.

Sometimes animal just die however if it is several of them it's either husbandry issues or something else is going on.

White goo might be RI (respiratory infection) That could be brought on by a number of things. Can you give us more details?

What type of caging do they use?
What do they use to heat the cages?
    What thermostats/thermometers do they use?
What are the hot side/cool side temperature of the cages?
    Humidity levels?

Yes more details are needed. Altho if it was RI it was there for a while. They dont just die as soon as they get an RI. It gets worse and worse if mot treated early enough and yes, can result in fatality. Chances are if it was RI the snake/s he was breeding it to has it now aswell and possibly any others kept in the same room.

A question I have is, if these people are your friends and the one guy had the same thing happen twice! Why didnt you stay on his case about getting a thermostat?
Having one snake die bcuz of lack of caring is one thing but for NO lesson to be learned and to have it happen again, thats just wrong. Be should try something a little easier to are for...

    Just my 2 cents

I agree with you guys ↑↑↑… The one friend that had the white stuff or "goo" as he told me, recently (3 months ago) moved his racks down to an unfinished basement with out any kind of air control. So I would go with R.I. on that one.
