    Proposed habitat help
So I think I have my enclosure picked put for my ball, well really my six year olds! Buy daddy pays daddy says. With a lot of help from this forum here is my plan. Feedback is appreciated.
    T3 from animal plastics
    flexwatt belly heat
    sliding locking door
    flouresent light
    8" stand
reptile basics 40 watt radiant heat ( my house is always around 68)
    Ve 200 thermostat x2
    acculite thermometer
plus hides substrate and water dish
let me know improvements and maybe ways to save money the thermostats are killing me but I think I need one each for the heat tape and rhp
    thanks all

I'm not familiar with the ve200, but I'm wondering if a herpstat 2 might save you a few dollars? At least then you only have to deal with one unit running both things. My house is also cool (around 72) so we're using a $40 ceramic room heater with a built in thermostat to heat the snake room. This might be excessive for you since you'll only have one bp (for now lol), but it would save you the cost of the radient heat panel and the extra thermostat.

ps. Thank you for doing your research before getting your snake.

You could get a herpstat 2, and only need one tstat. Spyder robotics sells them. We run herpstats, and love them.

An animal plastics t3 cage is only 12" tall so I would advise against the 40 watt radiant panel. Manufacturer recommends a minimum of 18" I do believe.

I have a nearly identical setup to what you're proposing, and I love it. I have the T3 - which is the perfect size for my adult female BP - along with all of the accessories you are planning to get (minus the stand). I would suggest getting the Herpstat 2 instead of two of the VE thermostats, I believe that will be cheaper (and yes, you do need to have a separate thermostat setting for the flexwatt and the RHP). I have the same 40 watt RHP panel installed as well - I was unsure what size to get and emailed Reptile Basics about it, and they suggested the 40 watt RHP for use in the T3. There's plenty of space in the cage for it. As for hides, I strongly recommend the Reptile Basics hides. Also, maybe look into getting a pair of hemostats for feeding and the F10SC veterinary disinfectant for cleaning the cage (Reptile Basics sells these as well).

Thanks everyone! I was concerned about the rhp and the cage only being 12" tall. However I think with a t stat I should be ok. My house is freezing most of the time.

    Proposed habitat help
I have two 12" inch tall tanks and I am using 28watt Helix RHP's .... I run them with the herpstat 4... My house is around 68degrees as well. I think I could have went with 40 watt RHPs and been fine. I feel like one of my panels is on 100% of the time to maintain 90degrees. That said the RHPs are my only heat source.

    Good luck!!

So here is what I think my final set up will be.
    t3 from animal plastics
flexwatt belly heat on a hydro farm thermostat
8 inch dome with ceramic heat emitter on a dimmer
    acculite thermometer
    two hides identical
    Water bowl
    a few decorations
needed to save some cash on thermostats for now.
    will this work?
thanks again for all the help
