Why are people still pricing deserts and their combos so high?
A local breeder posted an adorable desert spider male in a Facebook group for $650.
He then took offense to my comment "i love deserts. I wish they were breedable, he's beautiful"
Apparently i was disrespectful...
I just don't see how anyone can still think that more breeding will fix this issue.
Don't get me wrong, i think they are amazing and make some of the coolest crosses out there but i just can't understand potentially killing more females in the hopes of "fixing" them.

I dont think $650 for a male desert is high right now, the price will not hit 0 over night so his price seems pretty reasonable to me. Oh, and males ARE breedable, I can understand why he thought your comment was disrespectful because you make it sound like hes trying to scam someone. Mentioning that females arent breedable (if his ad didnt mention it), might have been appropriate but otherwise I dont understand the point of your comment except to start something....
Re: Why are people still pricing deserts and their combos so high?
I'm trying and failing to understand your issue here. Desert males and their combos are perfectly breedable, and there will be plenty of more cool combos made with them. Unfortunate as the issue with females is, it does not affect the ability of the male to reproduce. I can't blame people for not wanting to just give away their males when plenty are already practically doing so with their females. And people can price however they like...if you don't like the price tag, it's just as easy to move on to the next ad. I personally don't think $650 for a male desert combo is so out there, and to the right person(which is not me), may be a fine deal.

Ya I have to agree with everyone else. Desserts are hot and will always be hot. I don't think people should stop breeding the males. The pet store market will be broadened with some amazing dessert combo females soon. Instead of getting a same Ol pastel, maybe one day you could get a tiger female for 100 bux. That would be awesome for the people who only ever want one. Just my .02
