    A lil worried
Woke up the morning and she was cruisin around.. I put 2 new hides in last night that are the same.. Took a plastic bowl and cut a hole in the side..

She was hanging out in the one last night, cruisin this morning and right b4 I left for work I caught her she had slid under the paper towel between te paper towl and the plastic.. The uth is under the tank and set for 96 and I'm getting a hotspot of 90-92 pretty much all across we're the heater is..

Was she looking for heat? She just ate Monday..

The new hides are a lil taller inside but she was coiled in them with space above her.. I switched cuz she seemed to only go in her cave and not her log.. Wanted to make sure she wasn't choosing security over temp.. The cave was a a bit tiGhter and she barely fit in there and was going to outgrow it in a few weeks or months anyway..

Sorry for the rant I'm prolly just stressing but wondering your thoughts

And ambient is 78-82 on the cool side and 80-88 on the hot side depending on time of day.. Humidity is 55%..

Also I looked in Walmart for the accurite temp/humidity guage with probe that I see everyone run.. Couldn't find it in the cooking section with the othe thermometers.. I did get a scale and the 2 "salsa dish" hides for her tho

Don't worry. As long as your thermostat is controlling the UTH, the snake shouldn't be harmed by laying on the plastic. They hide under the paper sometimes, no big deal. Eventually she will feel comfortable in her hides. Give her some time :)

You are just having a mild case of "worried snake parent syndrome". Don't worry, we all get it!

    Hi,

I wouldn't worry too much - all mine go under the paper as a hide as it touches them on all sides so feels really secure.

The paper towels are fine. its okay if they go under them. I bet if you put in loose substrate she will just make a hole in the substrate and lay there. Don't worry about it. And keep her at home :P Its too cold to be moving snakes around!

It wouldn't be in the cooking section. I had to buy a new one the other night and I went to a couple of stores. They seem to be located near the light bulbs, timers, outlet covers, etc. If not there, they were near the garden area with the outdoor thermometers. Walmart wasn't one of the stores I went to, but I think department stores are set up pretty close to the same.
