Selling rats

I'm having trouble selling my extra rats. I've had a post on cl for a week but know one has emailed me. I also have a post on Bp.net. Is it me or just know one needs rats. I don't want them to go to waste if know one buys them.

Its not just you.
I have a freezer getting full because my snakes done eat f/t and right now most of them are off feed.
I almost cant give them away.:(

The local pet store sells close to 30 rats every week. I just need to be at the store when one of the big buyers is there.

If there is a local legitimate reptile rescue near you, they could probably use the feeders. That is how I get rid of my excess.

I like this idea. I may look up one here and if I can find a legit one then I'll likely send any extras their way. I have 6 females that are almost up to size and will begin pairing them with my male in about 2 weeks.

Geez where I am there is a huge shortage. I have been waiting three weeks for 30 smalls... It is looking like still longer. :(

Same here, there are a lot of breeders here that are having shortages...

sounds like you all need to move closer to me;)

I have too many feeders as well. Most of my snakes have gone semi off feed for the winter/breeding. (From once a week feedings to only taking a rat occasionally every few weeks)
I've just started limiting my rat breedings to 1 litter/month now until the snakes start eating normally again.

The rest of my excess feeders are sold or given to the ferrets.

The key to selling rats is to produce beautiful ones. Especially if you don't have regular feeder customers. I breed pet quality animals for special colors, dumbo ears, and rex coats. The pet people go nuts for them and will pay good money.

How much are you asking for them? i sell my extras on cl at weaned size for $1 each. they fly out of here and i normally end up answering 10 emails telling people they are gone already.
