What should I add this year?
Okay, in February I'm going to have around $3,000 to invest into a couple more animals and some more equipment. I'm also saving money each month to go toward my snakes but for all intents I'm not going to count it here. I know I need another rack and a better thermostat so that's nearly $500. What should I get with the remaining $2500? I REALLY like Lavender Albino, Pied, and Enchi. My dream snake is a Butter Spider Super Enchi so Enchi is pretty important for my breeding plans. I'm almost certain I want to add a Lavender Albino. They had a female at the Atl Repticon for $1750, so I'm planning on going back in April to see if I can find one. Or I may contact the breeder to see if she's still available. So theoretically, if I AM able to snag one for such a pretty price, what should I get with the remaining $750? I could get a female Pied or I could get a really nice female Enchi and save the remaining $150. So what say you? I like to ask you all because so many of you have better ideas and thought processes than I do. So far I haven't found a female Enchi that fits my qualifications. I'm adding a female Pastel next month, also.

My vote would be a butter or pied, I am not a huge fan of butters but if they are pared with anything else their babes are amazing! I really like butter spider orange ghost and butter pastels... oh and butter etchis!

If your ultimate goal is to produce a Super Enchi Butterbee, why not focus on that? You could pick up a pair of snakes for around $2000 give or take that would produce such an animal. Something like a Butter Enchi male and a Stingerbee female, or some other combination of the 2 genes. I would get that project taken care of, then get a Pied, or save more for a Lavender.

Looking at your list now, just a Butter Enchi male and an Enchi female could work too. Breed the Butter Enchi to your Spider, hope you hit the triple Butter Enchi Spider male, then breed it to the Enchi. Though I would probably still do the Butter Enchi and Stingerbee over that scenario.

^IKR? I saw a picture of one and my jaw hit the floor!!!

I found a Butter Enchi female for sale for $1750. I think I'm going to go for her (if she'll still be available in Feb...praying!) and that will give me some time to find a Stingerbee. How much would a Stingerbee run me? I can't find any for sale.

Just a thought, contact those breeders that you had mentioned and ASK them what else they have available. We breeders are SOOO BAD about not listing everything for sale. And a breeder would probably give you a great deal if you could pick up both snakes from one person ;)

I found a male stinger bee het ghost (!!!) on another site for $800 which is only $50 over my budget!!! Do you think I should go ahead and contact them even though I have nothing I can put down right now? January is always a tough month financially for me and I don't even have a down payment to hold them for 3 weeks until I get the rest of the money!

Heavily depends on quality. I've seen male stingers for $700, all the way up to 1200.

If it's an excellent example of a stinger, go for it. Here's my stinger, and I paid a fair price for such quality..

Steve Winkler has a female and 2 males available right now. Would you mind hopping over there and looking at them for me? The top male looks good (IMO but I'm still learning about what to look for in certain morphs. It took me a while to figure Enchis out.)
