Trying to decide on a plastic cage for my BP
I have been stuck trying to figure out what brand of plastic cage to get for my BP. I have looked at Showcase Cages, NPI Cages and Animal Plastics. I have found it very, very difficult to maintain a humid environment for my snake and thus decided that a glass enclosure needs to go. Right now I have pipe insulation (made of denim) wrapped around the outside and a few layers on top where the heat lamp doesn't sit.
I use aspen wood shavings, so I am wondering which cage/terrarium would be a good fit for a BP. The one thing I didn't like about NPI cages is that there is a dip in the top center I guess where daytime lighting goes, my question is what about a heat lamp, where does that go? Or would it be eliminated in lieu of a UTH?
The animal plastics cages look pretty nice but are they any good? Does anyone own a Showcase cage, if so do you like it or now that you own one, would you have went with something else?
Thanks,
PD

Thats great for 2 BP's.... 48 inches wide.... Definitely need divider. I ended up getting 2 Vision V221's with radiant heat panels and the Herpstat 4... So far they are working great!
Re: Trying to decide on a plastic cage for my BP
I currently have one UTH that runs on the left side of the tank and nothing on the right side aka the cool side. When I ran just the UTH it was still really cold inside thus I got the infrared heater going on top. Along with pipe insulation around the glass. It is cold in this house even with the thermostat set at 70°F. I never though about rhps until recently... they seem like an expense I should invest in later. I am currently concerned with an all glass enclosure. :) Do I need a full spectrum daytime light? I have read on various different care pages that you do and others say you don't, so it gets pretty confusing there.
For AP's why the T8 over the T3? I only have on BP at the moment. His current set up: he's in a 40gal breeder.
I didn't like Vision cages to be honest. I just want to be able to put lights on and not have to worry about affixing them to the plastic. Which is why I like the Showcase style and/or the AP's style of plastics. Does anyone have an NPI cage? Or why no one has went with that type of set up?
