    how often?
So, does anyone know how often I can expect my 6 month old Sandboa (Sand Boa?) to shed? This is my first snake and I'm not %100 sure what I'm doing all the time but I'm pretty sure he's coming up on a shed...the scales on his tail end are starting to look dull. Just wondering how often they shed at this age?

Mine seem to average about once a month. Sometimes they go longer sometimes it seems shorter. Mine sometimes have a problem working their shed off with their dryer environment. I will bump their humidity up when I notice them starting. If they really can't get it off I put a folded piece of paper towel in a deli cup (with air holes). I will dampen the paper towel pretty wet but not to the point of sloshing around and put the snake in over night. Usually by the morning they have it all off and are quite ready to be let out. I make sure to put the snake (deli cup and all) back into the enclosure but not right on the hot spot- more to the middle temp area. Its worked great for me but maybe some one will speak up with something that worked better for them:)
    Luck!

Thank you for the reply! Last night (before reading this) I did that exact thing with a deli cup and made a little humidity box for his cage. It's in there but he hasn't used it yet. I figure he'll go in if he needs it...
