See, beautiful snakes like him make it really hard to keep my no spider based morphs rule. Not fair!

He is so lovely. Like a dream almost. Does that sound stupid? I can't really express what I mean, he... doesn't look like a real snake would look, more like one you saw in a dream. Ohh, I'm just gonna shut up now because I keep sounding dumber and dumber and no one will know what I'm trying to say.

The only thing you said that was silly is no spider morphs. Very silly.

Oh I knew someone was gonna call me on that one. But I am not being biased, I am being practical. Everyone knows that spiders and spider based morphs wobble. My husbands spider does when he eats.
I don't have a problem with other people keeping them, breeding them, selling the babies, I am NOT biased against spiders, believe me. I think they make some of the most beautiful morphs and combos out there except maybe for being combined with pied.

However, for me personally, I don't want to get involved with spider genes because I don't think I could handle it if my babies had pronounced wobbles. I commented in another thread about a het pied I hatched that suffered neurological damage and had the worst wobble I've ever seen. And I am telling you right now, I could not handle an entire clutch like that. It made me physically ill to watch that baby. I just cringed and cried to see it try to move like a normal snake. I don't know why I didn't put it down. To much of a coward I guess. Now, thankfully he got better, and while he'll always have it to a degree, he can eat on his own and I am grateful for that.

But, to knowingly put myself in a position to experience that with multiple babies at one time? Or to see it happen over and over and know I was choosing to do it? Not me. I can't. I am far too sensitive and I'd never survive it. Having it happen as an accident is one thing, I can make myself get through it somehow. But to choose to run that risk with each clutch from a spider based combo ? Sorry, it's not for me.
