My little future herper, Andrea, with Jazzy:

I just need to break her of the habit of playing with the baby rats, and get her hooked better on the snakes themselves!
She is really starting to show interest in handling and caring for the snakies, woohoo!

Both of em looking good! My kids like both the rodents and the snakes (and the geckos and the cats and dogs and fish and ...). I think it's mostly just a matter of giving them opportunities to interact and be involved with them. My kids who moan and groan over the litter box have no trouble at all volunteering to clean a snake cage instead (thereby leaving the litter box for the other sister). :)

    Cool pic!
A few friends of ours came over wednesday abd brought their kids. Their 8 year old boy was completely petrified by the snakes, and ran out the back door when I got one of the BPs out! But by the time they left, the kid had handled the BP and realized that they were nothing to be afraid of. it was a complete turnaround! And I bet that he went to school the next day and bragged to all his friends about it. it is so great when we can get kids to see that these snakes are nothing to fear; maybe as adults, they'll own some. :)

Just the other day some neighbors were sitting out front next door with some of the kids and the one neighbors daughter is friends with our daughter. I was chatting with them and the mother said that her daughter had wanted to come spend the night sometime but jokingly said but they have snakes ( by the way I am known as the weird snake guy on our street).

The young girl looked apprehensive so I said hang on a sec and got the boys out so she could see that they are not dangerous or mean and she ended up petting Bob on the back and then she was fine.

Nice shot! Unless you have more than one, I'm guessing that's the same bci as in your avatar.....lookin good! Andrea looks pretty stoked......I love how kids' faces light up when they hold these beautiful creatures! My son all but exploded with joy when we got our bp. Then came the steady flow of kids wanting to look, hold, and of course watch feed!

Beautiful picture, Randy! Your daughter is gorgeous and that snake ain't too bad lookin' either!

When she starts dating...you should send her out on her dates with a fully matured Jazzy around her shoulders...... That should keep the boys off her.....

Maybe in a few years she will be on this forum!
I wish my parents kept large snakes when I was a kid :(
