    Possible Adoption
My local reptile rescue is picking up a red tail boa tomorrow and I've inquired about it. I found out that the owner has had it since it was a baby, but don't yet know the age. I also haven't heard why they're giving it up, but it's a healthy male around 4-5 feet. I have an Exo-Terra 36"X18"X18" terrarium and I'm not sure if it will be too small. It's got 4.5 square feet of floor space. I want to hear from BCI male owners to find out what an average adult size is. I read that males can reach 6-8 feet, but some can also stay around 5ft. Rack keepers, do the tubs you keep yours in have more than 4.5 sq/ft of floor space? I plan on including a shelf to increase that by 2 more sq/ft. Any input from boa owners would be appreciated. TY

I have my 6' male BCI in a 4'x2'x1'tall boaphile and it works very well. He has enough room to stretch out, which he does often. If I were to change anything it would be to give him a little more height since I know he does like to climb a little.

I would really recommend a bigger enclosure for one of these guys. They are big snakes and fairly active. They will use the space you give them!

Yeah I wont be getting this boa. I was really hoping it was a much younger one(2-3ft) I could raise and eventually get a hold of a larger terrarium.
