I think this was her pre-ovy shed, some glow starting.

Shed finished her shed today and so far to us she does look to be lighter. If this is her pre-ovy shed before she ovulates will she get lighter the closer to ovulating she gets?? She prefers to lay almost stretched out and not balled up lately.

Also the wet newspaper was replaced with fresh stuff after her shed, she really likes to move her bowl and when we move her tub some of the water spills.

The glow doesn't start the minute they shed, they ease into it and usually it starts to show up really good about 1-2 weeks after preov shed.

She's awful skinny to be that far along, but then I don't know what she looked like before breeding season.
Females that are in glow and headed to ovy have 20+ mm follicles and are usually bulked up pretty good.

We bought her in June 2012 and she weighed 1550g, right now she weighs 2300g she's 6 years old. I realize she wont be in glow right after she sheds, but was just saying that we noticed she was alittle lighter than usual. She's had 3 other healthy clutches with the guy we bought her from. We've been pairing her with our pewter and spider since the beginning of october and have felt about 7 - 8 folicles. I'm just trying to uderstand and get more info on the whole glow and ovulation part so I can keep track somewhat on everything thats going on since we're new to breeding bp. The pewter we bred her to was also paired to her with the guy we bought her from since we also bought the pewter from the same guy lol.

How big are the follicles your feeling?

I asked my husband to describe how big they felt and he said they felt size wise like ping pong balls or golf balls. He felt them a few days ago.

Sorry I made a mistake, we didn't realize that a ping pong ball was 40mm. I asked him again and he said they felt like large marbles. Should we try and feel her folicles again?

Im really trying to figure her out lol, our friend we bought her from got 6-7 eggs from her last clutch and they were big. She was only 2200g when she laid also. And she is 2400g right now. We both just felt her folicles there are about 7 - 8 and they feel like big walnuts.

If her follicles are walnut size I would think she'll ovulate soon..

This is all very new to both of us and this site is really helping :) We will be keeping an eye on her, just peeking in on her every now and then I hope we don't miss her ovy. How will she act before she will ovulate other than glowing?
