    Can a chest freezer.
    Can a chest freezer be placed on its side so it can be opened like a normal upright and still run right? Limited on space so just wondering cuz that way I can put something on top of it

    It'll run, but you'll definitely be looking for a new one much sooner than later...you'll burn out the compressor and the freon won't flow properly, so you'll likely have issues with keeping it cold.

    Yes you will burn up the compressor but not from Freon flow but the lack of oil in the compressor. The oil will drain out of it if it is not in its proper position.
