    Female Morphs under $1000?
I haven't been on here for a while and things are coming along slowly but surely with my collection, but I could sure use some suggestions at this point! What do you think would be good choices for a female to match with a super pastel male and a sugar male? Leave it to me to pick up the males first but life has just been like that lol. I can't afford more than a grand for a female morph. I'd love some of your ideas. Thanks!

If you're planning on spending $1k....you could get 3 or 4 single gene females! The question is what do you want to make? A Lesser, Mojave, Pinstripe, or Spider would make some nice babies with those males!

    Thanks for the reply!
I thought about the single gene animals but here's my concern with that. The single gene combos are going to throw a lot of normals. As a small hobby breeder, just making snakes I like and want to keep, I don't have the resources or connections to sell babies easily. From what I understand normals aren't easy to sell and are the snakes most likely to end up in shelters and discarded by lousy owners. This is in NO WAY a comment on anyone who breeds and throws normals, please no one think that, its just that I don't feel I'd have the resources to find a way to sell them if I hatched a lot of them. And since everything I've read here is about being a responsible breeder no matter if you're trying to make a profit or just as a hobby, I'm trying to follow the advice. :)
If I pick up one or two multi gene animals, I reduce my normals is basically what I'm saying. Not at first, but if I keep a sugar combo male and use that for breeding the next time and breed to a compatible combo (at least according to the genetic wizard) I get no normals. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong lol.

Nothing against normals. My baby boys are like big puppy dogs. But they were rescues, in terrible shape, fed wild rats so they're terrified and will only eat mice....what a mess :(

Hypo is awesome stuff! I never really considered those combos with the sugar though. Off to take a look :P

Well..... with a Super Pastel you're not going to throw any Normals. In that case I would surely consider a 0.1 Fire and a 0.1 Pinstripe. I would consider throwing in a 0.1 Butter, 0.1 Mojave or 0.1 Lesser as well.

My first choice would be the 0.1 Fire. With the 0.1 Fire you're going to hit at the very least a Pastel, but the payoff is in the FireFly :gj:

With the 0.1 Pin you will get the same minimum Pastel, but with the same 50/50 odds of a Lemonblast. A breeding basic double gene in male or female.

Personally the Sugar isn't fitting in there for me....

Right?! I was leaning toward a Fire/Spider but depending on my finances maybe I'll just start with the Fire. As for the Sugar, I guess I just want to play around there. I know a lot of people don't like them, but I really like axanthics and I think (in a perfect specimen) a Sugar Axanthic might be off the charts. The axanthic would take out all the yellow outline on the patterns, high-white sugar sides....I think a perfect baby like that would be really cool. Like an axanthic version of this animal. http://pythonregius.com/sugar-12m3.aspx
If anything it would definitely give me plenty of years to play the hit and miss game, add in other cool stuff, pull my hair out, you know.

And I can sell babies from the other project to finance this one. Like I said, all in a perfect world :P

    Thanks for the help!

I would suggest getting a few females rather than one, for your males 1000$ I'd get a fire a black pastel a Mojave and an enchi, if you get all good prices I'd grab a hypo too

The Fire is a good move no matter what you trhow at her. Enchi I didn't put on my list, but that's another good one.

I'm on the other end currently. Looking to next year, I'm gonna be short on males. Looking to pickup a Enchi FireFly and one other undecided powerhouse male.
