Help! My snake failed to kill a mouse!?

My ball python is about 3 months, I have gotten her to now eat on a regular basis. Today I bought home a baby mouse for her since she is due for feeding. Apparently she showed now interest when i put her in a separate aquarium to feed, because well it wasn't moving much since its eyes were still closed. After waiting a bit i put her back in her cage and put the mouse in back with her. She finally took interest and striked. After what it seemed to be an hour of her strangling and biting it, the thing was still alive!! She eventually got tired of it because well she failed to kill it. Im not sure how this happened, i obviously can't find the reason why on google! I promise you she has killed mice as big as this before. I really need some help on what to do now, the poor thing is half dead in her tank and she couldn't care less of it's existence anymore :(

I know this is gruesome, but I'd try wiggling it around with some tongs to get her to strike it again at full force.

I can try, but isn't so fond of tongs. She is now stuck in her hide and the mouse is still moving :(.

A baby mouse with it's eyes still closed sounds much too small for a 3 month old.
Hatchlings straight out of the egg can typically feed on hoppers already (the stage after their eyes open and they like to 'hop' around)
I bet if you got something larger, she would kill and eat it just fine.

Next time, just start feeding her straight in her enclosure. You don't need to bother with a separate feeding tank.
She won't develop cage aggression, which is a myth. And it's a lot less stressful on the snake.

Someone's probably going to disagree with me on this, but I take my little guy's hide out of the tank before I feed him so he's in a more active state and he has more room to work with his meal. It also gives us a chance to watch him eat :P. You might try that and see if you can get her moving around again. I'm no expert, I'm just telling you what works for me.

Also, please don't double post. Maybe a mod can merge them?

Thank you for your advise, I'm going to try to leave the mouse in for awhile to see if she tries at it again, if not ill get a bigger mouse. :)
