    Humid Hide box
My ball is shedding so I made a humidity hide for him with some moss but he won't seem to go in there. Any idea why he won't go in there? It's a butter container with a hole cut and moss inside.

I put him in a plastic shoebox with a little bit of luke warm water earlier and he seems much happier now, you can see most of his skin is shedding. I also saw him drink, lol.

How often can we give them a "bath" during shedding? Is daily too often? He is much more lively looking since his "bath"

    Thanks

Soaking a BP during the shedding process is actually counterproductive as it will remove the oils in/on the BP's skin that are necessary for shedding.

All you need to do the have a good shed is keep the humidity in the cage between 60%-80% (shoot for 70%) it might mean that you have to mist the cage often but it is only for a few days.

Thanks, the humidity is hard to keep up while i'm working during the day, I mist a few times a day when I'm home.

because he doesn't feel like it?

Do some of the humidity tricks: water bowl under heat lamp(no light), wet towel over one side of the lid, spray bottle as much as possible.

Some don't like the moss. I have one like that. I recently bought some cypress bark to put in there. That helps to hold humidity between mistings.

Water bowl on the warm side has always worked like a charm for me, and then just moving it back when I find the shed
