First feeding!!!!!!

Wooo, my ball finallly eat, he snatched up f/t like a pro, I was trying to feed him for a while and he was always in his hide. I came home from work today and noticed him exploring like he wa hungry,he took it like a champ.

Looks like he wants more, when should I feed him again, he's approx 5 months old. First time feeding a snake, what a rush lol

What size food are you giving him? I feed my four month old baby every 5-6 days. Snakes are opportunistic feeders, so assuming you're giving him a good sized meal, he may either be making sure there is no more food in the cage, or he may be working the food down into his body.

He worked it down really quick, I'm new to the snake world but he had it gone reallyu fast, but he almost "stood up" to swallow it, is that normal?

The " standing up" you referred to is totally normal. They do that to help move the food down. Congrats on getting the first feeding under your belt. No matter how many snakes you have getting them to eat is always a good feeling.

Thanks, that's what I thought he was doing because it looked just as that, but like I said I'm new to snakes so just wanted to make sure.

Well, I may not be qualified to say this, but no one else was saying anything. I think if your snake will eat f/t you should definitely go with it because it is safer for your snake, and more humane for the rat, IMO. Who wants to get squeezed to death? I recommend buying from a good supplier though, or pre-killing your own rats. I have been getting the ones from pet stores, and they're no good at all. They're overpriced and bad quality. I live in Oklahoma and there's really just no good place to get feeders here. IMO quality f/t rats should be pretty dry and smell-free when thawed. The problem is, I only have one snake, and it's a waste to buy rodents online just for him, as he's still growing and would outgrow them before he ate a whole package, and the shipping cost is so outrageous that you have to buy a lot for it to be worth it. So, if your snake takes them, and you have a good supplier, go for it.
