What is this?! Vet doesn't even know!
Okay so I took my baby ball python to the vet, the vet didn't know what it is, so i'm going to another one tomarrow to see if they know what is wrong. My ball python has been acting normal, and has been eating fine. Right now she is shedding. The temps are normal, and the humidity. Here are some pictures.

The very minimal information I can find seems to indicate that this is a genetic disorder that happens in snakes, and apparently in other animals as well.

I would mentally prepare yourself for the fact that this snake might die, and it will be completely out of your control if it does. It might NOT die, but it seems like with this genetic disorder, death is very common. It won't make you a bad owner or caretaker if it does pass away, so please don't beat yourself up over it.

Either way, good luck with things. Did you get this snake from a pet store or an individual breeder?

Yes I already mentally prepared myself, I think she may die...If she does i'll be heart broken.

I got her from a breeder.

I'd contact the breeder. This must be a congenital abnormality of some sort, and the breeder should have been up front with you concerning any abnormalities with the snake you bought. I don't believe there is any way to prognosticate based on the pictures...the snake may very well live a normal life. Still, the breeder/seller has some explaining to do, I would think.

Okay, this vet said she was just skinny and that I should feed her 3 times a week untill she fills out again. She also had a parasite called coccidia, :) He gave me medicine and she'll be fine.

I'm glad you found another vet that could help.

Wow! That's one skinny snake to be caved in like that. I guess that diagnosis is the best possible one since you can easily fix it with food, assuming your snake has a good appetite. Good luck.
