    My 2012 Review
Just some random things that happened in my life that I'd like to share.

    1) I learned again to not take family for granted. Should be a given but it really hits home when some threatens to die on you 3 times in one year.

    2) Buying a home is stressful. Owning one is awesome.

    3) "Don't bite off more than you can chew." I bred too much this year. I had so many babies at one point that I felt overwhelmed and about sucked the joy out of snake keeping. Feeding 40+ babies and 19 adults weekly is not cheap. God blessed me recently when a chance encounter at a pet store led to a guy buying 17 off of me in one swoop. And he may get 2 more this weekend. I am not breeding squat this year.

    4) Chanin got a job early in the year after over a year without. And she got promoted a month ago. Woot!

    5) I got promoted at my job after 9 years. Can't believe I almost forgot to put that in here. LOL!

    6) Joined the Smartphone world and it is awesome. Yay for Xmas bonuses!

    7) My affinity for anime skyrocketed. Mostly due to there being so few quality TV shows in America now. I am seriously considering getting rid of cable an getting everything I need through Hulu, Netflix, and other TV/Movie apps. I am tired of paying $150 a month for mostly crap.

    8) Speaking on Japanese thing, I started learning Japanese. It's coming slowly, But it's coming.

    9) We got out of credit card debt!

I guess that's it. Hopefully things will be a lot better this year. :)

I've been considering this too until I checked out how much I'd have to pay to get the internet by itself. What a sham.

Congrats on life progress. It's always nice to look back and realize you're doing it right!

Broadband here is $60 a month by itself. I am paying $150 a month for the HD Cable + Internet + Phone package.

As a non-cable person for the last five years I can say that I don't feel like I've missed much! We get everything we need off of Netflix (I'm not a big fan of Hulu just because of the ads, it makes me think of youtube and it cycles between the same 5-8 for each movie or show, which makes me want to throw a controller at the TV  ). My boyfriend recently signed us up for cable (as in the last two weeks) and it has yet to get hooked up, but I'm not really relishing the thought. It's only $10 to add it to our internet, but I'm.... leery. There's honestly not much I'm interested in seeing

Edit: Don't know why I didn't say this in the first place, but that sounds like an AWESOME year, hardship gives us the chance to shape ourselves and it sounds like you had some great things happen too

The only thing holding me back is sports. I am a big football guy. And while a lot of games come on the broadcast channels there are plenty on cable that I would miss seeing.

I hear you on buying a home - the process sucks. My wife and I have been unsuccessful so far on that front. It doesn't help that our budget is fairly tight. We knew it'd be hard, but we also thought the search would take a month or two in what seemed like a buyer's market, not 8 months and counting with no end in sight.

Anyway, enough of my gloom; congrats on having a great year!
