Can anyone tell me what this is?
I just noticed this on the tip of my (approx. 6 month old) pastels tail. All the temps are perfect and she eats frozen thawed so it wasnt anything caused from a rat. Also she shed not long ago and I know its not from some stuck shed because it came off in 1 piece and the end of the tail was all there?
Also its red in one spot, dry and hard...Kinda worried.
Any help would be appriciated, thanks in advance.
I know the pics arent great but thats the best I could do.

It is really tough to tell based on those pics. How is your humidity? Maybe its just some dry skin?

The humidity is hard for me to keep seeing as she is in a terrarium but my 2 year old normal is fine...Also there is red almost like a small burn but there is nothing in there that would get hot enough to cause one.
I will bump the humidity the best I can and see if that helps.

Also I forgot to add it is just on the very tip of the tail, the rest of her is just fine.

I personally wouldn't be too worried about it as long as it doesn't get any bigger or spreads. Is today the first time you saw it?

Pic isnt the greatest but looks like something ive seen before. what it looks like to me is a couple layers of built up stuck shed. you need to soak it a couple times a week and gently massage it as you handle it. eventually it will come off. I wouldn't soak the whole snake that often because it can be stressfull for them but rather use a wet warm cloth and hold it on there. also try boosting its humidity into the upper sixties for awhile. be careful not to pick at it or just pull it off as it can tear the live flesh with it if its not completly sofened.

It is really hard to tell from the pics. It looks like a bump just past the vent? I find that female over 1000 gm tend to develop a bulge there. It could be just this. Is there any redness or stuck shed or evidanse of anything wrong other than a little bump?

I would rub a dab of triple antibiotic cream WITHOUT the added pain relief. If there's any chance its belly rot it should help out. If its dry skin, the petroleum jelly will soften it up. Check the rest of her belly good and look for other red spots or scales that are discoloring at the tips. Does she soak in her bowl more now?

Are you sure that's not just the pigmentation of her tail? The tips of their tails tend to be very hard as well as very pointy!!! Wouldn't want to get one in the eye!!
