female has gone off feeding but is not yet breeding weight
my late 2011 sypider is about 1200 grams and has gone off feed, i'm thinking it's because it's breeding season even though she isn't being breed to any male yet. Does this happen sometimes?? She has never refused a rat two weeks in a row.

The 1000 gram "wall" as it is known as, is more of an age thing than a weight thing.
It's not unusual for females to take a break when they are around a year old or just over, not all do it but many do.

If you are feeding others that eat the same or similar sized rat, don't prepare one for her, but try to get her to take one. That way if she does eat, you just get another rat ready, and if she doesn't, you don't waste one. That's what I do anyway.

Yep, she definitely hit the wall! lol. The first time it happens to you, it kind of freaks you out, but then you get used to it. Just keep offering and if she takes f/t hope you have a backup to feed off any skipped meals. Se should be fine though.
