I need some help! and I know how smart the members of BP.net are!

Ok here is my situation!

In my backyard, I have a pretty decent sized pond. It probably about 15ft x 8ft and 4ft deep. About 3ft underwater, there are two holes/tunnels that are hides for our Red Eared Sliders and one of the RES is missing.... Nobody has seen him for a while. There's no way he could have gotten out - theres a fence around the whole pond. We have tried luring him with food but he doesn't seem to wanna eat. He's always been very very shy and scared and hides 90% of the time. We have one of those pipe snake things with the camera on the end.. but it can only reach a little into the hole and so far we haven't seen him.

Water is about 60 degrees.. and my last option is to get in and stick my hand in there... but I cant reach very far without having to go underwater.

Any ideas? :confusd:

Take a deep breath & dive!

You could try taking something long (like a garden hose) and probe around in the hides. You might be able to flush him out that way.

Could you drain some of the water out or make a dam by the hides to get better access?

Hate to suggest this, but could something have gone over the fence and removed him?

It's possible but unlikely. The ponds in our backyard and we never see any other animals, plus we have a dog that likes to sleep outside.
