Odd feeding behavior--sick rat

Please ignore...posted in wrong forum. Sorry.

I hatched out a baby that started out on rats no problem, then after a while would actually consume maybe one of every four or five rats it was offered. It would strike at and kill them all, just didn't want to eat them...so I started offering mice, which it would take no problem. Now, I'm back to scenting rats with mice and trying to get it to take them regularly.
