    def a newbie question
    my first Ball python was found in the trash. i now have BP fever. i have a question though...i am getting a pastel female tomorrow and i was wondering if people stud out their male snakes like people do with dogs

    I know of people who do it, but only in cases of people who know each other pretty well. I occasionally see a guy on my local Craigslist offering up BP for stud. It's always a risk of introducing disease and mites, I'd want to know the other person for awhile and a tour of their animals/place.

    You might be able to find another hobbyist breeder near you on craigslist.org or on kingsnake.com/classified. But when it comes to breeding morphs you can't guarantee what you'll get or how you'll split up the snakes produced. You also have to agree on breeding and egg incubation techniques. Sounds like a lot more bargaining than it's really worth. You're better off just finding a male for yourself. That way you control all the variables in breeding/incubating and enjoy the payoff in the end. BTW how is that BP you found in the trash?
