A couple belly scales swollen
About a week ago I took my female ball python to the vet and she does have an infection. She is on antibiotics and she has to be soaked in a solution every day or every other day. Yesterday when we were giving her, her antibiotic I noticed that half way up her body on her belly about 2-3 scales feel and look like they are filled with a fluid. The fluid is clear and she is not red at all in that area and it does not seem to hurt her at all. When I touched that area she did not try to pull away at all. Everything I have read usually they have some kind of redness or the fluid is not clear, Im not completely sure if this is from the antibiotic or what. I am at work right now so I can not take any pictures but she shed right before I took her to the vet because that is when I started to notice the infection. She is going back to the vet on January 5th for a check up so if this does not go away I will bring it up then.
But I have had her for 5 years and everything is good in her enclosure. The humidity is right and so is the temperature. Im gonna keep an eye on it over the weekend but if anyone else has seen this before if someone could let me know what it is. Remember it is not red or sensitive at all to her. Plus the fluid is clear and it does not smell at all. When I ran my finger across it a very small amount came out on my finger so that is how I know that it is clear and does not smell.
Re: A couple belly scales swollen
I actually just called my vet and they said to keep an eye on it like I was planning on doing and if it gets any worse to call them and that she should be okay until her next appointment. But Im still curious if anyone else has had this or heard of this

Is your snake digging in through the substrate and sleeping directly on the glass over the heat pad? I ask because, my temps were fine too, according to my thermometer and infrared gun, but mine kept coiling round and round until she was lying directly on the glass and managed to get a minor burn anyway. She's temporarily on newsprint while she heals, instead of the substrate I normally use, and she's now in shed, so her damaged scales should be better in short order - But just wanted to toss that out there, as I've had all kinds of worried nights over mine having belly skin problems all due to her heat pad, even though it was technically not "too hot".
