New Ball Python not moving?
I am new to the snake world so this may or may not be normal.
I bought my first snake Monday which is a ball python. The first day he was moving about in his enclosure but ever since he is hiding under his hide on the cool side. I havent seen him leave that spot. He is curled up in a ball there.
The cool side is close to 80 degrees and the warm side is close to 90. He doesn't seem to want to come out from his hide. He is in a 20 gallon.
Is this normal or should I be worried?
Re: New Ball Python not moving?
I rarely ever see my ball python roaming around her enclosure, she spends the great majority of her time in either her warm side hide or her cool side hide. This is completely normal behavior for ball pythons; if they are happy and not stressed they will spend most of their time in their hides. Sometime the night before feeding day my girl will roam around her enclosure like she is looking for food, or if she has to go to the bathroom she will generally roam around a bit before she goes. But other then these two instances I almost never see her outside of her hides. No worries for your little guy :)
