    Shedding on a fast?
hey everyone, my snake hasn't eaten since October 20th but not too worried, apparently it happens a lot once they hit the 1000g mark. She hasn't lost or gained any weight since then, but she has just started going into shed. Is this normal? I don't really see a point in shedding if she's not growing. Just wondering!
(Also, this is her first shed for 2.5 months as well, so why now?)

    Thanks

My biggest male normal was on a 60 day fast once and he shed during that time. Prior to that he had not shed for about two months. So yes, they can and will shed during a fasting period. Hope this helps.

The layer of skin below the shedding layer is always growing/developing in regardless of whether or not the snake is growing larger so once that secondary layer of skin is fully developed, the snake sheds.

Well, she left me "present" and a skin sock but didn't take food. I'll try again on the real feeding day, Wednesday night.
