So I fed Sheldon, my bp today, first he was trying to swallow the mouse sideways, then i saw him swallowing it tail first...should I be worried? could it cause harm?

No, they do that from time to time. Generally with some age they figure it out ;)

if he swallowed it tail first, sometimes when the rodent is smaller than what they can take. they will take it tail first. check and make sure he's getting the right size. no harm either way. a proper size meal. some say 10 to 15 % of their body weight. I say after your snake eats and it's all the way down. you should see a slight lump. if the lump is huge you just run a better chance for a regurge. doesn't mean he will. if you see no lump, just go a little larger next time. you don't need to get your scale and calculator out when you feed your snakes. don

My ball python has swallowed one or two of her feeders tail first, I was worried too the first time I saw her do it but it's not a big deal. Sometimes they just like to shake things up I guess haha. :P
