First ball python
This is my 2012 pastel BP. I traded my normal boa for him and he's an awesome little dude but I've yet to decide on a name. He looks kinda browned out on the top though, but still a really cool snake.

Re: First ball python
Very nice banding! I like browned out pastels sometimes and he's a nice one :)

Congratulations! Yeah, it looks like he's pretty brown, but he's so gorgeoutastic with his reduced pattern. :gj:

Any chance you could show an example of a pastel similar without a reduced pattern? I never really paid much attention to bp morphs until now :p

Re: First ball python
This is my Pastel female, Anuket. She's pretty browned out on the top too, but her pattern is a bit busier than yours. ;)

I like the more yellow pastels but the brown on the top adds some really nice contrast. Thanks for showing me a pic btw, I was still trying to figure out what people meant about lesser patterns or being "busier" with ball pythons. Your girl still looks awesome though. And thanks for the compliment :)

No problem, and thank you! :) Yeah, the "busy" pattern just means that the snake's markings (which are called alien heads by some because they resemble that) are more pronounced and the "spots" that make up the "alien heads" are easily seen. Your Pastel looks a lot more reduced, he doesn't have many alien heads, if any (can't see his other side). Your guy looks like a mixture of my Reduced Normal, Aken and my Pastel, Anuket. :D

You can also have super busy patterns, like the ones on my het Albino male, Ptah.

This is why I love BPs. They vary greatly in design. ;) Welcome to the addiction!

I was originally going to get into boas but I traded my BCI and ATB off. I'd much rather keep smaller snakes I could eventually breed to make some cool new things. I think he only has one spot though and it's not really that noticeable. In a few years hopefully I'll be breeding this boy with another pastel in hopes of reduced super pastels. But yeah I started off honestly disliking BPs completely but I've grown to like them :P Thanks :D
