Recently this little one came into rescue:

He / she is doing well, and already eating, it is very active and lively. (We assume it was captive bred).
The last BP rescue (Humane Society one), is still very very shy, hides all the time, but is doing well being handled when needed.

(we definatly think this female was wild caught)
    Thanks

Something about the face of that new one....just looks a little odd. Is it just a weird camera angle or is something wrong with its face? Either way, it's a cutie! Good luck with it!

Great work you do Rusty, keep it up, all the little herps need ya!

I sometimes think my young bp was WC not CBB because he is still so skittish and hides most of the time and is just getting use to being handled after me having him since Dec ( was about 18-20" when I got him)
But he is a good bp so I can't complain. Don't know much of his history since I got him a Petco.

i can tell you his history. he was imported. probably in mass quanity. doesn't always turn out for the worst though, some of the healthiest and prettiest normals i've ever seen were imports.

Yeah I think u are right Wizill.
I have taken him to the vet and the vet says he is good and healthy I still have to get a poo sample to them next time he goes but he appears to be putting on weight and looks good.

I thought he was WC because even the vet said how he balled up so much and he rasies bp's.
And it has taken forever to get him use to being handled be he seems good now.
Still doesnt venture out from his hides much. He is about 28-30" now

God, I hate the thought he was born in the wild and shipped over :(

He could very well have been born on a "farm." They catch gravid females...hatch out the eggs, and import the babies by th boatload. Good chance he's never actually tasted the "wild life" and the only truly happy home he's known is yours. :D

not always the case though. a lot of imports are caught before they even hatch, still in the egg... then incubated. also, gravid females are highly sought in the wild. in any case, your snake seems to be doing fine, but i'd tighten up on that stool sample vet check. most imported bp's carry some sort of internal parasites, but it's usually easily treated.

I hope so. The thought of being snatch from the wild upsets me
I wanted a dwarf Burm until I found out they are all imports or born of imports
