    Problems with CHEs
I've always used CHEs for my whole gang, and now I go and try to use two in the living room, and it seems like one is smoking. This one was literally just taken from one of the hedgehog cages to the tank, and it smells like it's smoking. I've been using this hood and lamp combo for about 6 months now so it's not just the bulb getting warm.
Would it be that they're plugged into the same strip?

Could be a little dusty. You have to remember to clean those well. Dust buildup can cause issues. The other thing ive seen is they do wear out. I've had a few for a while but I take them out every so often and look at the base. If it looks like its corroding it gets replaced. The only other thing I can think of is they do get incredibly hot. If its not a dome that has the ceramic they can melt the plastic of the other ones.

    Got it working!
For whatever reason, the outlets in the living room must be different then the bedroom. I have one plugged in with the fishtank and the other one with the rest of the snakey stuff.

You are not over heating the outlet are you? It is hard to grasp what you mean exactly from the posts but it sounds like when you plug the CHE into one out let it smokes (che or outlet?) it might be a good idea to have someone look at the circuits and maybe put in an extra one.
