Feeding two mice at a time?

New BP owner here. Sorry if this question was posted before, I tried searching but couldn't find anything.

I got my girl about a month ago and she's about 5 months old now. When I got her the breeder told me she was eating live mice hoppers so I went to work switching her over to f/t. I was successful but she seemed to digest them quickly. She was active right after and the lump in her belly was gone within the day. Last Sunday I decided to try feeding her two hoppers at a time and she took them both. After that I didn't see her for two days lol. I've tried searching for frozen rats but there are never any available in the right size and she seems too small for bigger mice. So my question is, is it ok to feed her two mice at a time for now? Just until she gets a bit bigger and I can find rats in the right size?

Do you know what she weighs now? I fed my boy two mice a week for a while till I came here and learned I should switch to rats

If they are of the appropriate size/ratio for your snake, feeding multiple mice is fine.

There's no problem with feeding multiple mice, it just gets really irritating when they're 4-5 feet long and eating 8 of them. I would just recommend switching to rats when you can.

I haven't weighed her yet, still working on getting a scale. The hoppers do leave a noticable lump in her belly though. It's like shes in between sizes, too big for one hopper but not quite big enough for a small mouse. I've been trying to switch to rats but I buy the feeders at Petco and they do have rats but they are all too big!

I have the same problem with petco now that my snakes eat bigger rats its easier but I also just started breeding my own rats to fix that problem ha it's hard getting small rats in northern mn so breeding is my best option but guessing you only have the one girl so I would recommend breeding rats ha

Yeah just got the one girl lol but maybe one day though....

Went back to Petco after work and still nothing smaller then a small rat *sigh* looks like she'll be on hoppers for a little while longer.

Eating multiple, smaller meals won't hurt them any. I have a couple of balls that should be eating small to medium rats now, and they are still finicky about eating even mice.

Feed what they will eat, rats or mice doesnt matter as long as they are eating:gj:

Weight is what you really want to know so get a scale asap. You really should be feeding at least a small mouse though.

I have 1000+g snakes that will only eat 2 or 3 mice a week. ;)

What if you have a baby that's long but thin? I just got my baby BP from the reptile show, and he's around 20 inches long (I haven't measured him, but he's around the same length as his 10gal tank) but only about as wide as a quarter. I gave him a larger fuzzy mouse as his first meal four days after i got him and he snatched it up, no problem. By his width, he looks wide enough to be eating hoppers, but they were out. I haven't weighed him but I'm guessing by his weight he should be eating small mice, but he's so thin right now. Is it better to be giving him small meals? should I offer two hoppers, since he's skinny, or stick to one until he fattens up?
Also, should I start a new thread for questions like this, or should i just post on one that's already started? I'm kind of new on this site, sorry.
