Buying from breeder's website?

With the addiction in full swing I am looking at adding a male lesser to my collection. As the only BP I have so far was purchased at a expo from a breeder I spent quite a while getting to know...are there any tips or suggestions to buying from a breeder via their website?

Am I within reasonable expectations to ask for references for previous customers? Updated photos? Is there anyway to check the breeder out so to speak?

Fauna's BOI is my #1 go to if I'm thinking of purchasing from someone online: http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/foru...splay.php?f=13 (just search their name or business name). You can also post an inquiry on someone if there's no good guy posts on them.

I've never asked for references personally but I don't think it's a bad idea, if it's a big name breeder/company though with a good reputation it may not be needed to ask. It'd be up to you.

I usually ask for more photos, just to make sure it's the same snake as the one they posted for sale and to see how healthy it looks in current pics. Sometimes I'll ask for a certain shot if I want to see the full pattern on it or whatnot (ie like a bird's eye shot if the photo they posted in the sale ad is of it curled up).

Known as the Fauna BOI (Board of Inquiry) We also have a section here on bp.net for inquiries/feedback on breeders, and there is at least one, if not multiple groups on facebook for BOI dealings with facebook classified people.

Asking for references would be the step after you don't find much/anything on the different BOI's.
