How do you go about responding to threads?
I was just curious how everyone goes about answering a question or any other type of thread on this or any other forum when there are already responses left by other people.
Re: How do you go about responding to threads?
I'm not sure I catch your drift. Do you mean if someone else already gave the response you were going to? If so, you have a few options. A) Quote them and say something like, "I agree," or if you're cool, "True dat!" B) Repeat the response, only better. Or C) Hang your head in late comer shame and don't respond.

I didn't think about that. But i meant that if you see there are already postings, do you ignore them or read them and use them to change your answer accordingly

Holla!
I guess whether or not you read them all and change your answer accordingly depends on the kind of person you are. Personally, I try to read all the responses before posting, but sometimes the thread is so long I don't have time. I've been trying to read the Random Chat one for like three days, and every time I get back to it there are 16 more pages!
If it's an opinion-type post, then it makes sense to read through it all first if you can. Sometimes someone says what you were thinking, and sometimes you see things that change or at least make you reconsider your opinion.
I think it's ultimately up to you what you post and when and for what reason. As for me (and Cartman), I do what I want :)

That's what I try to do, unless I'm in the mood to try and make people laugh.
As a "newer to herps than most on the site" person and just being a pet owner I don't have the big answers at this time. I try to share my limited experience, things I've read, and the few tips I got from the vet. Everybody here seems genuine so why shouldn't I try to have at least a little ethics.
