New leo...have a question

I just got a new leo last night, he is a jungle. He is soo cool, I love him, now I just have to think up a name. I'll try and get some pictures and post them tomorrow. My friend picked him up for me at the reptile show and forgot to tell me yesterday that he doesn't eat crickets, only meal worms. I had thrown a couple of crickets in his cage for him, the poor guy, I didn't give him any meal worms. So I'll have to feed him tonight.

Now my other leo eats both crickets and meal worms as well as the occasional pinky (which he just goes crazy for). How do I get this new guy to eat crickets? He is an adult, so I guess it is okay that he doesn't eat them seeing as how he has lived this long. Is it something worth trying to get him to eat, or just feed him straight meal worms?

I got him to eat a couple of crickets last night. I caught them with a pair of needle nose plyers (not easy btw) and teased him with them until he tried one. I got him to eat about 3 of them, he wouldn't eat the last 2 that I grabbed. (I couldn't stand the chirping anymore, the crickets had to die, if there were going to be eaten or not)

He is such I cool little creature, I still don't have a name for him yet. I took pictures last night, but I forgot to bring them with me this morning.

If you just don't feed it for a couple days, 4 at the most, it'll eventually take crickets. It is just like getting a snake to go frozen, gotta make them wanna eat it.

I'm a person that believes in variety, so I think it'd be best to feed both. About 70% of leo owners feed strictly meal worms. But good gut loaded crickets have a higher nutritional value, plus they get excercise hunting them.

Sounds like fun. :D I can pick up smaller crix with my fingers, but the bigger ones still creep me out too much, so the other day I found myself chasing one around with a pair of needlenose pliars, too! And you're right...it ain't easy! LOL (I was feeding it to my beardie) I don't know much about leos, but it seems like a good thing that he ate the crix for you...if for no other reason than to make your feeding times consistent.
