Jus switched Clyde from substrate to paper towels, he doesn't seem to fond of his new bed lol should I avoid handling for a few days?

I would give him a week to settle in. Anytime you change something significant (even if you don't think changing his bedding was significant), you need to give them time to settle and get used to their new surroundings. Even though the substrate was the only thing that changed, to your snake, his entire world is different.
