Okay I would like to change over to rats. right now Icc is eating hopper mice because that's what he was supposed to be eating when I got him though I think a size up might be good. Here is a pic of my buddy with a quarter for size reference? What size rats should I start him on?

I think he is about a yearling (11 or 12 months old) I can't recall.

what size rat would you guess?
oh and he ate monday and hasn't *defecated* since before i got him (3.17) so that may explain the extra buldge. ;)

Rat pups should be just fine. Thier prey should be about the size of the thickest part of thier body.

Yeah, rat pups are the way to go. I have just converted my growing BP female to rats, from mice. I used the rat pups whose eyes just opened, and who have just started getting a bit of fur on them. Amazingly, she takes the rat pups with greast relish, though she was a spotty feeder on mice.
