    According to yahoo yes they can but sparingly and not peanuts. Do you want me to copy and paste the list of foods that are good and bad? I found a decent one its what I've been following when tossing stuff to mine

    yes but not the shells. the shells can tear up their teeth and cut them.

    Thanks I found some pages that showed safe foods but I didn't see pecans. I thought the shells would be good for their teeth like wood.

    I've only put soft wood in with mine, softer then shells would be. But I mainly put in cardboard houses that they chew apart lol
