    Houdini Escaped!
My little Pastel Het Red Axanthic escaped I guess late last night/this morning. Shes 130 grams and she was in a 6qt sterelite tub. I guess she popped the lid off 5 feet high on the rack and im pretty sure she took the fall down to the floor. How should i go about finding her? I did find some poop on the door so she's in the room i guess.. should i be worried shes crawled into my house under the doors? My parents hate snakes so I must find her before they do.. I also have a 20 pound dog who im afraid for... mainly him eating her..
    Any pointers are greatly appreciated!

They generally don't go far. Start by checking around the rack and move out from there along the wall.

With escaped ball pythons, I have always found them within about 20 feet from where they escaped and usually hiding inside of furniture. Sometimes they climb to higher locations as well. I found one once on my kitchen counter, and he would have had to escape onto the floor before figuring out how to climb up onto the counter. Good luck!

When I got home today I just kept reminding my self to stay calm and to never over look things as thats the key problem when on a search for something. I used a flash light to peek into dark holes and corners and sure enough she struck at it! Thank god i found her! but she doesn't seem too good, her head seems a little weak :( When my mom gets home i'm going to take her to my local breeder to have them take a look at her but nonetheless there is no loose snakes in my house anymore!

Yay! Glad you found her! Hopefully she bounces back without issue for you.

Side note: what did you expect?! Naming her Houdini and all ;)

I'm glad you found her. I've noticed that snakes seem to hate flash lights, my sister theorizes that it comes from being candled while they are still in the egg. :P
