Homemade snake rack - worth it?
I'm getting anxious to acquire my ball python, but I know I need the right set up first. Today I found an ad on craigslist for a snake rack someone made. Apparently it was made for their ball python project, but they changed their mind and won't be going through with it. Will hold seven 34-qt bins. Flexwatt heat tape is installed. They are asking $75 for it, and want it gone asap. Not the most attractive looking thing, but I figure I could paint it or do something to make it a little nicer looking. Picture below.

    Is it worth the money?

If it is worth the money, what else needs to be done to it to make it suitable for housing ball pythons?

Is it melamine under each shelf?

It looks like it would work just fine and you can't beat the price if you don't want to build one yourself.

It looks like melamine, but if I contact them I'll ask to be sure. From what I have been reading, melamine is a good material to use, for holding in heat and humidity, right?

Well after talking to the seller, found out it isn't actually made of melamine. We decided to pass and try building our own. I have a friend whose husband builds cabinets. If he can help us out, we can probably manage to build a real nice one.
