Colour changing and size of GTP
    Hi guys!

A i have a baby GTP that is 8 months old. Ive had it since it was a new born hatchling. From the data ive read GTP's start their colour change between 6 months and a year of age so i think mine should be starting soon. I would like to ask you guys if you know how much a gtp 8 months old generally weighs( in grams) i havent been able to weigh mine because ive been really busy but i would like to know an aproximate weight so i can compare to mine. I will post some pics as soon as i have some time!!

    Thanks in advance!

It would depend on the animal and it's feeding back ground. Even gender can play a part. Ours were about 60-80 grams at 8 months old but they started off as good eaters and were fed once a week.

I've had hatchlings begin changing at 10 weeks and some that waited until 18 months. Genetics have everything to do with color, weight, and overall growth. I have had hatchlings hit 200 grams at a year and some that barely made it to 80. Too many factors to rely on.

i weighed mine last night and it weighs 40 grams. I have to say i have been feeding until probably 2 months ago small prey items because im scared the snake could have a prolapse. Ive seen it happen to a couple of clutch siblings, and they have ended up dying. But i have fed regularly every 7 days. Now that ive switched into a larger pery and the snake seems to be taking it okay i hope it gains some more weight soon. Do you think the colour changing could also be affected by the growth rate? or is it just simply to do with its genetics?
